Description
The Beatles – Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (50th Anniversary Edition) celebrates one of the most influential albums in music history. Originally released in 1967, the Beatles’ eighth studio album spent 27 weeks at #1 in the UK and 15 weeks at #1 in the United States. It earned Album of the Year honors in 1968 and was later named the greatest album of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine.
Conceived as a fictional Edwardian-era band led by Sgt. Pepper, the album marked a major artistic leap for the Beatles. Blending British psychedelia with vaudeville, music hall, avant-garde experimentation, and Western and Indian classical influences, it became one of the earliest fully realized concept albums in rock history. Iconic tracks include “With a Little Help from My Friends,” “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds,” “When I’m Sixty Four,” and “A Day in the Life.”
The 2017 Anniversary Edition features a new stereo remix by Giles Martin, aiming for a “3-D mono” experience, along with numerous session outtakes across two CDs. A timeless rock masterpiece and essential listening for collectors, beach playlists, and beyond.
